Saving Sadie's Dress (Part 2)

Now that Sadie's dress would close in the back, it was time to get started on fitting her front bodice. Bodice alterations included: Taking in under her bust, narrowing the center mesh panel, bust darts, proper size cups and adding boning throughout her entire bodice to provide extra support.

Since the entire top was beaded through all the layers, those pearls had to come off and be hand sewn back on after the areas were taken in. This was time consuming, but I knew it would be worth it! Her boning also had to be handsitched to the inside of her dress.

What a transformation!

At Sadie's pick up appointment, there were tears of joy, among all three of us! I felt so honored to be able to save Sadie's dress and be a part of her big day.
